I genuinely believe that you can’t blame other people for ‘getting you down’. If you cry, you can’t say ‘oh I’m crying because so and so did this’ because you’re actually crying because you let so and so’s actions define your emotions. In the same way that only YOU can pull yourself out of a rut, only YOU can put yourself in one.
When you let it go, stop dishing out the blame for how you feel to everyoe around you, and realize that you are the only person in charge of your emotions, that you can choose to let something upset you, or you can choose to say a big fuck you and move right on past it, life gets just that little bit easier.
